Fats Domino The Fat Man

Fats Domino passed away this week, it's one of those things where you think, wow, was he still with us. As you always thin of Fats as a man from another time. Fats Domino sold a greater number of records than anyone except Elvis Presley. He was a star, hailed far and wide. However, he felt like a very normal kid. . Right when Domino grew up in New Orleans.  His father began from a sugarcane home upriver. By 1960 the range was stacked with modest, single-family houses. Domino moved into a front line split-level home. He wasn't there to make a joke of his old friends, be that as it may. He was giving them a place to hang out and drink ale while he invited them to lunch. After a short time, Domino was in J&M Studio on Rampart Street, recording "The Fat Man." He thought of it as a standard musicality and blues song—he just made up new verses to "Junker Blues," an old tune recorded by another New Orleans piano man, Champion Jack Dupree. Regardless, Do

The Blue Nile - Tinseltown In The Rain (1984)

This week it rained for the first time in Madrid, since a long time, we really needed it, it felt like the end of the longest summer ever. The rain comes and helps clean, it helps wash away recent events. Caught up in this big river. I love the lyrics in this song. Do I love you? Yes, I LOVE you, but it's easy come and easy go. All this talking is only bravado yeah Oh, Tinseltown, Tinseltown in the rain, Oh men and women. Many memories locked in this one.The Blue Nile, so good, never forgotten, and even better in the rain.

Peter Gabriel - Don't Give Up (ft. Kate Bush)

It is so easy to forget the importance of Kate and Peter, especially if your not from the UK, if you grew up in the UK during the 80's and 90's then you know only too well we were blessed to have this music and much more given to us, via all outlets at the time. It is easy to take this for granted, but time will show this was something else, and a majestic and pure moment. As Peter and Kate state, in your lowest moment - when you hit the bottom,  don't give up, Kate's voice will lift you, her voice directs the message into your heart and soul.  If your not able to see this now, I recommend you do some living and come back in 10 years.

Pissed Jeans - Waiting On My Horrible Warning

True, you don't hear much on the radio, or in any place like this anymore. Without doubt this is going in the right way, shame so little in terms of vocal are projected this way. Can you feel it?

It Is Not Growing Like A Tree by Ben Jonson

It is not growing like a tree  In bulk doth make Man better be;  Or standing long an oak, three hundred year, To fall a log at last, dry, bald, and sere: A lily of a day Is fairer far in May, Although it fall and die that night—  It was the plant and flower of light. In small proportions we just beauties see; And in short measures life may perfect be.

Percy Sledge - When A Man Loves A Woman (Live)

I have been listening to this song for longer than I have been on this earth.  However, listening now today, the meaning has transformed from it's past the present. This is partially because of the piece of triva, which I discovered thanks to a certain profile on Youtube from D umpster0101 - who states the following : " When a Man Loves a Woman - is a song recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966 at Norala Sound Studio in Sheffield, Alabama. It made number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B singles charts. It was listed 54th in the List of Rolling Stone magazine's 500 greatest songs of all time. The sidemen for this recording included Spooner Oldham, organ; Marlin Greene, guitar; Albert "Junior" Lowe, bass and Roger Hawkins, drums. The song is credited to Calvin Lewis and Andrew Wright, who played bass and keyboards with Sledge. However, the song was in fact written by Percy Sledge himself, but he gave it to Lewis and Wright.". The Building - Have to Forgive (Acoustic)

In my current mood this song is quite striking Go find your wife, tell her what you did. Dont try making this about something that it isn't.  Go find your wife and tell her your an idiot, tell her that it's not your fault and it's time to admit it. You have to forgive.  Go call your mum, tell her what you did, it's starting to make sense, now that you have kids.  Go find your Dad, tell him you forgive him, you understand it's not his fault for the life that he  couldnt live.  You have to forgive.  Go find your girl, tell here your a kid, tell her your not capable of giving what needs given. Go call your friends and tell them your a dick.  You have to forgive. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is a message here for many of us. At one stage or another.

Begin The Beguine - Ella fitzgerald - And now when I hear people curse the chance that was wasted

Today I am reminded that you never know what is around the corner.  In the last few hours I have had some heavy working of my lungs. I could feel a nightmare wrongness pervading every inch of my body, and now I live this nightmare.  My eyes heavy with tears, as I hope this is a dream. It's not, it is my reality.  As my heart breaks at the loss of a grand opportunity. As I  return from the hub that was calle Fucar where it really all began in so many ways, and I arrive home in La Latina with a song locked in my head.  Perhaps  this song is here because of my old friend Tony from Tony's bar, close to Fucar, where so many magical moments began. I think it's just a mix of it all, what a way to end.  The two lines that strike me today are - " And now when I hear people curse the chance that was wasted ", and the harder to digest " Let the love that was once a fire remain an ember".  I started a fire, and just as spark ignited the wind changed and b
